My Dad - Two Peas In A Pod

They say you can't choose your family and I say that's OK as I would choose the one I have every time.

Today has been really lovely. On the 9th my Dad turns 60 so Mum decided today we would have a lovely family meal round there place and a very yummy roast dinner it was. Oh and I baked my first big cake. I usually do cupcakes but I thought I would try my hand a rustic butter icing cake for Dad.

I love these family get togethers and cherish every moment. Sometimes I sit in silence whilst everyone talks and just listen to them. Hearing every ones voices and taking it all in.

I am so lucky to have the Dad I do. We are like two peas in a pod and I would defiantly say and I am proud to admit, I am a Daddy's girl. We have so much in common. We like the same movies, we both love the same music and we both have a love for space. One thing my Dad has never failed to do is make me laugh, even when he is winding me up I still can't help but laugh at him. I like to think I get my sense of humour jean from my Dad. The thing I love most about him is how much he has supported me growing up. Dad (and Mum of course) have always supported me in being who I want to be, never judging me for who I am and the mistakes I have made and I am truly grateful for that. Dad is not only my Dad but one of my best friends and I cant wait to make more memories with him.

Happy Early Birthday Dad. Love you more than you will ever know and more than I can ever express.

  1. I love this. I can relate to this post so much. I am well and truly a Daddy's girl and I cannot wait for him to walk me down the aisle next year and make him proud of me :)
