The Craft Room at Unicorn Cottage - Struggles and New Changes

23:21

My craft room/studio is an on going project for me. Having this space at the bottom of the garden is great but boy does it come with its problems as well. Being an old out building it doesn't have any damp proofing in the walls so the damp and water gets in so easy. When we had the floor put down we had them lay damp proofing under it to stop any rising damp so that's one less worry. Not only do we have damp to contend with we have spiders and plants that inside on growing through the cracks and into the room. I'm worried that if I leave it one morning I will come in to find a wall covered in ivy, which would look lovely I admit... The spiders are starting to grow on me. Sometimes I do find I have to suck them up the hoover but most I just leave up on the beams as really they aren't doing any harm are they? Heating was also an issue until we had a new storage heater put in there and now during the winter months I can use it as well.

I am always changing the room, adding extra bits here and there but recently the boy and I started sorting our back bedroom out so we decided some new shelves out back would be a great place to store DVDs and CDs and I think the shelving fits perfect with the fresh look I wanted for the room.

I know that this room will change many times whilst we rent Unicorn Cottage but right now I love it just how it is.
