Lung Leaving Day. A story to touch any heart- Lets have an adventure Link Up 3

Its link up day and today I wanted to share a really important post that I hope will all love to read. Not only is it about an adventure of life its about survival and celebrating life.

I was recently emailed by a lovely man called Cameron Von St. James. I wasn't sure what the email would be about so I started to read. By the end I felt inspired and emotional. He told me the story of his beautiful wife Heather and her battle with cancer after being diagnosed with Mesothelioma. A rare cancer that kills most people within 2 years of diagnosis. Heather was given 15 months to live but after having one of her lungs removed Heather began the journey of survival. Against all odds Heather kicked cancer in the butt and now with her husband they are spreading awareness of  Mesothelioma.

Cameron kindly asked me to help in their cause and seeing as Cancer has been apart of me life I jumped at the chance to help them spread the word.

One the day of Heathers surgery to remove one of her lungs her wonderful sister tried to make light of the situation by calling it Lung Leavin Day and well the name stuck and now on every 2nd February Heather, her family and friends get together around a campfire and write all their fears down on plates, they then smash them into the fire. The purpose of Lung Leavin’ Day is to encourage others to face their fears! To celebrate for those who are no longer with us, for those who continue to fight, for those who are currently going through a tough time in their life, and most importantly, we celebrate life!

To help spread the word Cameron and Heather have asked bloggers to participate and spread the word about Lung Leavin’ Day. They have set up a wonderful interactive page online that tells you all the story and also gives you the chance to write your own fear on a plate. Take a peek here: Lung Leavin Day.

Although the day has past I really wanted to help the family so please help Heather and Cameron spread the word and celebrate life beause at the end of the day its worth the fight.

Let's have an adventure has been running for a month now  (it is a bi-monthly link up that posts on the 13th and 26th of each month) and it has been so much fun meeting new bloggers and reading all about your adventures that Keri-Anne and I wanted to offer other bloggers a chance to co-host the link up with us. If you would like to co-host, please do send us an email at
So go link up your wonderful adventures and meet new bloggers. You can also add the link up button to your own blogs. Happy Linking.
